Having grown up with my mother’s painting easel planted in the center of the kitchen, art has always been at the center of my life. For nearly thirty-five years, I have explored the Japanese resist dying method of Shibori on fabric and paper. More recently, I have created installations integrating Shibori with materials such as wood and metal.
I studied art education at the University of Cincinnati and I hold an MFA in textiles from Miami University. I have shown my work nationally and internationally as part of the World Shibori Network and Yoshiko Wada features my work in the book “Memory on Cloth.”
